Cinnamon: An AI-Powered Jewelry Design and Brand Identity Case Study

As part of an Artificial Intelligence training program, I was invited to develop a personal creative project using generative AI tools. While many projects focused on creating directly with AI, I decided to take a different approach.
Rather than starting with prompts, I wanted to start with something deeply human: a memory, an intuition, a visual idea.
As an Art Director, UX/UI Designer, and creative professional with a background in fashion, branding, and visual communication, I have always been fascinated by the creative process itself. Throughout my career, I have designed digital experiences, worked with luxury brands, developed visual identities, and created concepts across multiple mediums. Yet one area remained largely unexplored: jewelry design.
The project became an opportunity to finally bring to life ideas that had existed only as sketches in my notebooks.
My objective was simple: begin the process exactly as a designer would have done before the rise of generative AI.
I created a series of very simple black-and-white sketches by hand. No rendering, no shading, no technical drawings. Just the essential shape of the object.
In many ways, these sketches functioned like wireframes in UX design. They captured the core idea while stripping away unnecessary details.
The experiment was also a way to test a creative hypothesis: sometimes less information produces better results. What matters is not complexity, but clarity.
Using CREA and NanoBanana, I transformed these rough sketches into highly realistic jewelry concepts. The results were surprisingly accurate and demonstrated how AI image generation can accelerate product visualization while preserving the designer’s original intent.
Rather than replacing creativity, the technology acted as a visual translation layer between idea and execution.

Building a Complete Luxury Brand Universe
Once the jewelry collection had taken shape, I expanded the project into a full brand identity exercise.
The collection was named Cinnamon, inspired by personal memories, organic forms, warmth, and sensory impressions.
I then developed the surrounding brand ecosystem:
- AI-generated luxury campaign visuals
- Art direction and creative direction
- Brand identity exploration
- Logo design
- Visual storytelling
- Model creation using generative AI
- Luxury jewelry advertising concepts
- Social media and campaign imagery
For this stage, I primarily worked with Midjourney to explore different visual territories, define the brand aesthetic, and create a coherent campaign universe around the collection.
The challenge was not simply generating beautiful images. It was creating consistency across every touchpoint, from product design to brand communication.
AI as a Creative Partner, Not a Replacement
One of the most interesting lessons from this project was that AI becomes significantly more valuable when it enters the process after the creative intention has already been defined.
The strongest outputs came from ideas that already existed before any software was involved.
For me, generative AI is not about delegating creativity. It is about accelerating exploration, prototyping concepts faster, and visualizing ideas that would otherwise remain unfinished.
This project reinforced my belief that the future of creative work lies in the collaboration between human imagination and digital tools.
The role of the designer, art director, or creative strategist remains the same: finding meaning, defining vision, and making choices.
AI simply allows those ideas to come to life more quickly.
